Tank range

Post by startrek » Sun Apr 23, 2006 5:27 pm

On a trip to Lancaster last weekend I managed to achieve a very pleasant 320 miles out of one tank at a speed of nearly 80 all the way traffic permitting.

Just wondered if anybody else has managed to achieve this figure?

Normally 210 miles per tank

Cheers

Startrek - what are you doing, pushing it there by hand? I am achieveing 14.8 MPG, without it even being run in and only going up to 6,000 rpm. The first tank full I put in the computer said I had 220 miles on the tank - oh god !!!

Noticed my average down to 9.7 MPG the other day. Ouch!

Normally average 200 - 250 miles per tank.

Optimax only. Most money to date to fill up is £56.00

Did someone mention running in ?

Do we need to run them in ? (too late now)

I had very similar experiences ... first drive home from Leeds, 300+ miles, mainly 85/90 on cruise down the motorway ... ever since I seem to be averaging 200-210 8) 8) 8)

managed to get 264 miles when I went to France and that was a mix of motorways and town driving. Didn't think that was too bad.
On the school run I'm gettind just about 17mpg in heavy traffic.
