Saw a B7 on Saturday

Post by SimonS4MTM » Mon Apr 03, 2006 1:25 pm

Initial response was "wow look a B7 RS4", then immediately afterwards, "oh, it looks like an S-Line, what a shame"

And before anyone says anything, its not sour grapes because I cannot afford one, because I will be able to in a few years on the second hand market, but now I don’t think I will want one.

Yeh but no but - when you really look at it and appreciate its muscular subtleness it actually looks feck all like an S-Line.

Its understatement like Audi do best or else we'd be shopping for Mitsibushi Evo VIII/ IX.

Parked my B5 RS4 beside and then opposite a B7 RS4 today and had pondered the beautiful sight for a good few minutes, didnt have a camera with unfortunately and dont have one on my fone either.

Somehow the B5 came to lok a bit ordibary and out of proportion after a while - aaaaagh

Is this the equivalent of snow blindness?

I saw an Imola yellow B7 cruising up the Kings Road in London a few days ago. Have to say it really looked like an S-Line. I think audi have done a good thing offering the S-Line spec on lower models but I think they could have maybe tried to set the RS4 apart a little more for those parting with over 50k. Being banana yellow didnt do the car many favours either. Am hoping the Avant will look meaner.

My girl friend came home saying she had seen a RS4 B7 Avant down the road. She knows her cars. So I dashed out to have a look and sure enough it was!.......until that is, I got closer and it said S4 :(

Listers in Stratford had their RS4 parked next to a new Black S4 Avant and the RS4 did look much better, the arches were more pumped up and the bigger wheels helped. I prefer the subtle look of the RS models and the BMW M's. If you want to look manic buy an EVO IX.
