It will be really interesting to see if this car goes.

Note the owner is not the one selling the car. I don't think he has any intention of selling it unless somebody is prepared to pay well over the odds. I think he's just testing the market.
RS4 Straight out the box - gone :-(

It such a shame that this happens and people who really want the cars have to wait!

None of the B7 RS4s on ebay have sold yet, best one fetched was 48K. There have been a few 'Buy it Nows' for 45K which look suspect.

That's because he/she is a fat greedy cat! (only joking if your watching)

Did you notice that someone as pretty much said they have 54k to spend and the car is still in the auction?

Greed!

Seriously, if any of you are interested in buying one of these from main dealer consider coming to Southern Ireland, why? Because Ireland has one of the cheapest pre-tax base prices in the EU because we pay a scandalous Vehicle Reg. Tax which is 30% on up of the base figure so if I was to buy a RS4 in Ireland and drive it in Ireland it will cost me 110,000euro!!! But if any other person who is not a resident of Ireland can buy the car at base price, get temporary plates and drive it to UK and register it there. Ireland is the only other country in the EU that RHD and the Spec/regulations will be the same. Audi warranty will be valid in UK also.
Ring the dealer and ask for details, make sure the car is NOT registered already and that you will want temporary plates to bring it to UK.

There are two for sale at the moment on Irish equivalent to autotrader website from dealers, but also check www.audi.ie for other dealers.

You probably will find that there is a waiting list because a lot of people from UK are doing these, but it should be a short list because very little people will buy this car to drive in Ireland because its too expensive.

But if you knock 30% off the 110000 Euros and then convert that figure into Sterling(1.44:1) it works out at £53400 to which you would no doubt need to add Vat which makes it substantially more than UK price. Have i got this right anybody??

this is how it works

Base price
add 21% Irish Vat
add 30% VRT
=110,000euro
take off the vrt at 30%

im not sure exactly about vat but you only pay vat once inside the EU

im not sure if the take off 21% irish vat or add on uk vat to the base price.

best thing to do is ring the dealer in ireland, he will let you know.

also for reference irish revenue website is www.revenue.ie
and www.oasis.gov.ie also useful.

Ok found some more info in this link:

http://www.revenue.ie/leaflets/zzinfo.htm

Looks like Irish VAT @21% must be paid before the temporary plates call zz plates are issued.

There should be a small saving but the main difference is the waiting list IMO

Its not just Ireland, any other EU country can order RHD for you, Belgium is good also, but not sure about waiting lists, & Language problems etc.

p.s. might be better to start different thread about importing car to UK
