AutoCar RS4 Test......

Post by Riz_RS4 » Fri Mar 10, 2006 10:24 pm

Pretty impressive figures......

In gear timings if I remember correctly are...

1st = 42mph
2nd = 70mph
3rd = 102mph
4th = 147mph
5th = 163mph
6th = 163mph

So it looks like there is a limiter :(

0-150mph just over 26 seconds!
0-100mph in 10.5 seconds.

I cant wait to get mine...... so excited.

For the more thrifty members such as myself saving for a B7.

This may be of some use :)

Mmm this review seems very strange when you compare the one in the magazine......

Agreed. The one in the magazine is really very positve and talks about it being a much better 'all rounder' than the M3. This is lukewarm by comparison.

This week they did the full test and rated it highly but the week before on a first drive/group test they pitted it lower than the M3 CS

This week though they even talk up the residuals

Curious?

I will have to force myself to spend the money on the mag, for the full roadtest.

I guess the website has the initial impressions and the full road test write up is composed after the journo has received their stuffed brown envelope....allegedly of course :lol:

Not going to type it all out.....

Here is the verdict!

AUTOCAR VERDICT:-
For some while Audi has made RS models that are great to look at and own, but not especially thrilling to drive. The new RS4 changes all that. It`s hard to think of a single major weakness we can highlight, or another car at the same money that can beat the RS4 for all-round appeal. The new V8-engined M3 will need to be very good indeed to take the game on from this.
