Have you had the steering rack checked or the steering/suspension geometry checked?
All S4/S6 have a tendency to wander slightly (Tramline) but that will depend on the whole suspension/steering age and the size of wheel and tyre combination used. The bigger the wheel/tyre the more the tendency to show issues with the steering and suspension. If you are happy that all the running gear is in good condition, get the car suspension/steering ‘4 wheel laser’ aligned by a specialist. (Or Audi if you want a hole in your wallet.)
If its tramlining and the rest of the equipment is OK, a smaller tyre (Width) will help but not so good for road holding and/or traction. See if you can drive a few other ‘good’ S4/S6’s to see if they have similar phenomena. My car has no problems with its steering and/or suspension, as most of its new and has been set up correctly but it does have a tendency to tramline slightly, especially where obvious road camber and lorry wear has left undulations in the road surface. (I am running “8.5*18 - 255-35ZR18 Dunlop SP Sport 9000” wheels and tyres)
All the best,
Andy.
