revs rise during gear change

Post by dangerS3 » Thu Jun 24, 2010 7:54 pm

Hi Guys,

I just got myself a S3 8L 2001 yesterday and everything seems pretty amazing with it but I noticed when I'm changing gear the revs rise when the accelerator is off and the clutch is down.

its my first turbo'd car so I'm not sure but I'm guessing its not supposed to do that.

has anyone had a similar problem or any ideas of what the cause could be?

Thanks

This is normal for these cars, as well as the 8N TT's with the same spec... It should rise ever so slightly helps with smoother gear changes!

I find it helps to release the accelerator slightly before dipping the clutch.
