Had my 1999 S3 chipped by Superchips 3 weeks ago, big improvement, and makes a great car even better; highly recommended

If this is the TT we custom mapped on 95 RON and that had the restrictive intake kit with a cone filter fitted to it, then it's no surprise, Doug says it felt loads weaker than most of the S3s we map in general. What we were really concerned with most was reliability running 95 octane fuel, and lack of airflow because of the restrictive cone filter+ standard turbo intake pipe.

Just think, it could be 3 - 4 hours of great driving home! You have used tem before and thought they were ok so why risk somewnhere else?
I think you can go upto 270bhp on these can't you?
Wondered if it was my old imola s3, that went up north 3 years ago.

He did use 95 ron and have a pipercross cone filter yes maybe it is the same TT.
so would i need to change the turbo intake pipe too if i was to get mapped?
What cost is involved with this?

get a forge TIP and ditch the cone, you could pick up a stock air box for pennies. (gas flow proves stock airbox and paper flows better, especially with internal vanes and webbing removed!)
why would he/you/anyone run 95? you are saving a couple of quid per tank and the car runs crap.......
I can feel the difference between standard super and BP ultimate as soon as I fill up.

Its not my S3 with the cone it was my mate with his TT.
S3 is totally standard at the minute, was goin to keep the standard airbox and put a replacement pannel filter in probably pipercross.
ill look into the forge pipes, cheers buddy

I used to use Tesco 99RON in my focus ST as it was bio-ethanol and the others where not.
I have not used in in my S3 as of yet. Worth it? I also only put half a tank in at a time so it does not go stale. lol
Are K&N ok panel filters as thats what i have got on order.
''(gas flow proves stock airbox and paper flows better, especially with internal vanes and webbing removed!)'' what are thermal vanes?

Definately worth paying the extra for Tesco 99!
Ensure there is not too much oil on the panel filter, because if this gets onto the MAF it kills it
