Hi there,

just thought I'd say a quick hello! Bought a 2000 W-Reg S3 )(210Bhp) in October. Absolutely love it! Have a lot in mind for it! (Don't worry, nothing chavvy!) I love modding but am not a bodykit and massive spoiler sort of guy! Anyways that's it, will be in touch with all my annoying questions!! It's a pleasure to be a member!

I can't wait! The plan is:

1. Put some 18" 9 Spoke RS4 (B5) Alloys on.
2. Engine Re-map
3. Milltek Cat back exhaust system. Can't decide between non-resonated and resonated. I like lovely exhaust note, but I don't want it to sound too boy racer, any ideas?
4. K&N 57i induction Kit
5. APR Silicon Hoses (Compressor Inlet and Throttle Body)

Any other things people can recommend doing to the car, i'm all ears.

sounds nice matey. Wouldnt waste ya money on a k&n though, had problems with my MAF on a golf i had... Id do engine and brakes as the standard ones are pretty shocking (porsche gt3's on mine work pretty damn good)... as for the milltek, the non-resonated ones seem not too loud as milltek are far from chavvy... hope youve got deep pockets though as they aint cheep..... one other thing i bought my car with is a front mounted intercooler which seems to work really well especially with the stage 1 map for keeping intake temps down. hope this helps. ok, who would you recommend for induction kits? Also, front intercooler is about 600 quid! So might have to wait with that one. Have saved up for exhaust so thats all covered, have a quote for about £520 for a cat back. Would a resonated Milltek sound too much like the stock exhaust?

I think the general message on the forum is that the stock air box is good for any power upgrades you do. I f you want something different id go for an uprated panel filter (pipercross etc... but not oiled) if you put something like a K&N on it can have an opposite effect and draw hot air in from the engine and lose power, which is the last thing you wanna do. I think you should get the non-resonated, I was reading a post on audi sport.net and some one was saying the res milltek was far too quiet. Personally id save up and get the milltek cats along with the backbox then get it mapped...... Should be pretty quick after the exhaust + map. Any thing else your thinking of???

What about a Carbonio system, they have them on the Awesome GTi website, any good?. Was thinking of doing the cats as well, but it's a lot of money. I'd be looking at about £1k for Milltek exhaust + cats, and i can't justify that right now. Will it matter if i do the Cats at a later date? Also wanted to put a centre arm rest, makes such a difference on long journeys and i drive to Yorkshire quite a lot, so would really improve that. Are they easy to retro fit? Do i just need the Audi arm rest or do i need the whole centre section between the seats?

Id get the cats and exhaust done first then get it mapped. The carbonio looks ok, should be miles better than k&n as its longer (tooked away from heat) and made from carbon fiber. As for the arm rest im not too sure on how youd fit it. Thought all s3s came with arm rests. lol. Im guseeing a standard s3 armrest will fit your console (might be able to find a decent 1 at an audi scrap yard)
