What wheels for my new whip???? bbs ch or rial nogaros??

Looking for some new wheels. Any sugestions??? was thinking either BBS CH or RIAL Nogaros. (8.5x19). What other wheel options are out there??? cheers. scott

I'd keep away from 19's on the S3. The handling is crap with them on and the ride is very harsh. I ran 8.5x19 et35s with 10mm spacers all round, and 235x35x19 tyres. For performace, the 18" CHs I had on previously were way better.

yeh but fook me mate, ur s3 looked the badgers nackers. looks wise, u cant beat 19s. Did you have any rubbing etc with the spacers on?? Have you got a 8p s3 now??? Scott

Forgot to mention i had 19" rial nogaros on my other s3, thought the handling was ok (8x19 with no spacers) they were set quite into the arch and didnt look as good as they should, thats why i wanna go 8.5" all round with spacers, should look quality. What springs were u using???

Think the nogaros are a nicer looking wheel as i had them on my old 1. More to 'look at' if you will.

Any one else got any other wheel options.... dont wanna follow the crowd (rs4's, mtm...etc)

Cheers, but I think that was my point. 19's looked good, but I only put them on for the looks. Overall they weren't a good idea on the car:




Thing is, I preferred the look of my 18" CHs and since they were lighter and the tyres had more sidewall, the handling with them on was unreal.



I sold the S3 just before Christmas due to lack of use. Bought a B7 RS4 in Sept

Good effort mate. Shame about the s3, but im sure the rs4 made up for it. lol. Dont suppose u still have ur 19s do ya??? theyd look pretty sweet on mine. Did you have any problems with the massive calipers on the front with 19s??? iv got the gt3 porsche calipers up front, 10mm spacers and standard wheels, seem to be ok.

With the RS4 reps I needed 16mm spacers to clear the calipers and there was less than a mm of clearance. I had the porsche big reds from the 993TT, not the monoblock GT3 calipers (which are wider). The spoke design on the 19's (MTM Bimotos) was such that caliper clearance really wasn't an issue. It didn't need 10mm spacers, I only used them cos they looked good. The car was running on Eibach coilovers, down about 35mm, with adjustable tie-bars at the rear and the camber set to -0.5deg. I had scuffing on fast, heavy compressions, and full-lock reversing. I'd still go for decent, lightweight 18s if I were doing it all again.

Sold the S3 with all the bits - spare wheels, turbo, de-cat, etc. There's nothing left and the garage is finally clean.

Oh, and I work for a large oil company. Its a crap job!

Kewl. Crap jobs normally do pay well. lol. Was thinking of getting the asa ar1 wheels (8.5x19) et35 offset and keep 10mm spacers all round. The asa wheels are a deep dish and wanted to no if theyd catch on the porsche calipers???????
