I have just brought an S3 & was a little suprised that the Registration document showed A3 on it & not S3

Is this normal & How do I confirm from the Vin number that it is an S3 ? I am sure it is but wanted to just clarify things

No idea how to check via the Vin Number but the S3 has wider front a rear arches than a normal A3

I dont think its normal, but i would check. i feel affended when ppl call my much loved S3 and A3!!! ha ha

I've just checked mine -
on section D.2 Model/Type mine has printed S3 Quattro.

I will query that with the DVLA today !

Check the options sticker in the boot under the carpet, or in the service book.

Mine also says "S3 Quattro". Sometimes comes up as A3 1.8T S3 Quattro in insurance quotes online etc.

Where did you get it from? Audi?

Thanks guys ! Its deffo an S3 just confused as Registration doc shows A3 1.8 turbo quattro & not S3 !

Have spoken to DVLA & they told me to send back V5 & they would look at changing it !

You sure its not a 1.8T Sport or sumat like that? Seems strange how they have mine and davehodge etc right.

its an Avus silver with MTM remap, 18" aftermarket wheels & tints
