Can anybody give me hints or tips on buying a secondhand s3?

Hello to all, i'm a new member and new to all this. I've been looking at s3's for a while now on autotrader and pistonheads and think its about time to buy one soonish! Ideally i would like to get a 225 facelift model. Is ther anything i should look out for or bare in mind?
