My 2003 S3 has developed an intermittent problem.
Twice last week, my wife reported that when she closed the drivers door, the interior lights would not go out. Also, when started, the autocheck flashed up with the warning for drivers door open. Plus she said that the door could not be locked from inside.
I am assuming that the interior lights are controlled by something built into the door lock??, as there is no sign of an external switch.
Can anyone shed any light on this, and likely repair if possible. :

Mine did this once, i sprayed some WD40 into the lock catch and it's been as good as gold since, apparently something to do with water in the lock.
