Where is the VAGCOM port?

I have a B5 S4 and VAGCOM and want to check for fault codes on a mate's S3. Where is the VAGCOM port?

I found what I thought was the port behind the ash tray in the front central console but it was just a hole! I am wondering if this is where the port should be but it has fallen out!

Try looking by the driver side door hinges under the dash...
