dip in revs while sitting idleing

anyone any views or have had this problem, and can point me in the right direction.

Possible your MAF sensor.
VAG-COM would tell you

i would say its lumpy when its cold, once its heated up it goes good, just now and then wehn sitting at lights or summin it tends to dip.....
may i ask what VAG-COM?

Its a software package that plugs into the engine management portal in your car and reads any fault codes stored. Gives a wealth of info and seems to be an invaluable tool. Used by Audi workshop but the software is also available to buy over t'internet., and you simply upload it on to your laptop. Do a search for VAG-COM in the electrical forum on here and all will be explained ma loon.

Yeh soz u need to buy a cable aswell but that info will aslo be on this site too. I dont have one myself but there's a couple of lads round our way that do. The portal is situated towrds the rear of the centre consul beside the ashtray for the rear passengers (well is on my RS4 anyway) Far dya bide min?
And what colours yer mota?

just along the same lines as dave, my s3 8l has problems when idling.
i,ve run vag.com on it and got no error codes and the following re air flow - i,m getting 186 g/s at 5800 rpm and 2-3 g/s when idleing. see below. does all this look normal?
