my problem
i have this gunge forming under my oil filler cap, from time to time, and just wondered if anyone could help me out. i have had various suggestions made to me

1 head gasket
2 breather system maybe blocked
3 condensation build up as the car sits about alot, few weeks at a time
4 oil usage is relatively high, bout 0.5 l per 1000miles

any suggestions or help pls

My money would be on condensation.

Have you been doing a lot of short trips over the winter?

well i do, do the odd trip here and there, i 1st noticed it when i was heading home from Glasgow, which is about 200miles drive from where i stay, any suggestions on how to eliminate the problem
