Horrific noise in fifth gear!!

I was driving home the other day accelerating to around 70mph i put it into 5 fifth. As soon as i changed the car started jumping around and making horrible noises (tractor like), i thought it was going to stall so i took it out of fifth and into sixth....where it was fine! I can't make it do it again (i'm taking this as a good thing), but i'm worried if it does the car's goona blow! Does anyone have any ideas at all? I have searched through the forum but can't find anything! Is there anyone in hants/guildford area that has vag com that i can plug in and check for faults? Revo on sat

Dean I would love to help you out Vag-com wise but unfortunately I'm really busy at the moment.

If you're being Revo'd then they should scan the ECU for fault codes etc - ask if they don't anyway.

From what i can see from the various coil pack threads , the car will run like a tractor from start up? is this true/ am i making it up??
