Diverter valve, Benefits????

Hey all
purchased a 2000 audi s3 last week and was thinking about getting a diverter valve for it. Have just got a few questions for any one who has got one.
Do they make more noise than the standard valve? (do not want it to sound too loud like a dump valve but would like maybe a little bit more noise than standard diverter)
Did you notice any real difference when you had the valve fitted?
What manufacturer would you guys recommend? Been looking at forge or amd (but if you know better let me know)
Also, been looking at the forge motorsport website and it has 2 types of valve, a fast road closed loop valve and a piston closed loop diverter valve. The first one states that it is suitable for all VAG 1.8T engines and the second one states that it is for all cars with air flow meters and shows it being fitted to an audi tt which has the VAG 1.8T engine??? so which one is the better valve?
Thanks
Aaron
