What brake options???

Post by r5bmb » Thu Apr 21, 2005 11:42 pm

Hi all,

My 2000 S3 has got standard brakes, the other night after a bit of "spirited" driving  i noticed a slightly hot smell when i got home. I was thinking of changing the discs and pads soon, and wondered what the best/most cost effective option for "fast road" setup would be.

I don't really want to spend too much though, (not 911 calipers etc).

I thought about uprating the discs and possibly some higher spec pads, has anyone else got this setup?

Andrew

I've uprated the pads, and it's better. Not that much better, but noticably.

Had a set of Movit 4 pots on my S3 which is still in the family. Absolutely brilliant if a little pricey.
Awesome on the track and in normal use. Can thoroughly recommend them if you can afford them. Some places charge over £2000 but shop around and you can get that down.

I got a good deal on mine through a friend. :D PM me if you want details.

When I had standard brakes I first uprated the pads to some mintex.

If you want to go big brakes though contact Rich from JBR Peformance on Audi-sport.net as he is the official ECS tuning importer here in the UK and can get good deals on big reds etc.
