Are TT suspension parts the same as S3?

Hi,

Thinking about new springs/dampers and was wondering if the TT parts are the same as S3?

Easy to find TT things, but nobody seems to mention S3 parts!

not all components are the same - the TT has different roll bars and also has different shock absorbers on the rear (different rating). Possibly this also extends to the spring ratings on the rear also.

Thanks,

hmmm, would that mean I need different dampers? What about coil overs?
Not that knowledgeable here, sorry!!

All help is appreciated!

again the coilovers will be different - the KW variant 2 system on my old S3 had a different product code compared to the TT quattro.

There are rear-end weight differences between the TT and S3 - that is why these components are different.

The roll bars poundage differs, as do the springs and dampers.
Partly due to the recall by Audi back in 1999 (Softened the settings up.....).

The fitment of the rear dampers are the same, but the rate is different. I find that the Bilstein sprint S3 dampers are a little soft at the rear causing understeer. I would be tempted to use the TT dampers on the rear next time to try and resolve this...

The reason for asking was I've seen some used Bilstein PSS9 COilovers going really cheap, but they're for a TT. Would get them if I was sure they'd fit (and more importantly work!). But looks like the part numbers are different.... .....so not sure.
