Is everyone assuming that there won't be an RS3? Am I safe to go and get my £1k deposit back from Audi Taunton?

i would say so, Audi boss quoted saying RS brand is for the A4 and A6 range only...

I agree with you dunc,I think there will be a s3 which i think will be a derivitive of the 2.0 fsi turbo with around 250bhp.stick your 1k down on one of these.

True but without the rest of Audi being aware of it. I believe they are trying to back out of that. It's very strange for any manufacturer limiting the choice by statements like this. There's no need to tell people stuff like this and limit yourself.

Of course, everyone is entitled to change their mind!

Whether there is a S3 and RS3 is still a good subject of debate. I honest don't think there's enough space in the range. They have to keep in to a certain limit or else it will outperform their bigger models. i.e. they need to leave space for S4 coupe etc etc

No point..I've got 330 bhp in my S3...and I've been banned for 12 months!!

Yea. It was a guy's in Salisbury. Mate of BOWS3's I think. Amazing car. Even when it's sat on the drive. Only 330 days to go! Spooky

Anyway, haven't we seen the new S3 in Autocar and Auto Express? Can't remember now, but I thought it was due in the summer.

Autocar say 2006 for S3.

I think there will be a S3 - why not? The A3 3.2 is no S car, and they still plan (supposedly) to produce a S6, S4 etc -= so why drop the S3?

Autocar change their minds depending on their circulation figures! Most of the stories were all rumour and no more than's going around the web...but of course you pay for hearing their opinions.

Autocar is okay - some things they get right, some they dont.

That's true. My comment was directed at their coverage of Audi's where they obviously have a certain opinion.

I haven't bought Autocar for almost 4 years because of their unbalanced view of Audi. There are better magazines out there to spend my money on.

There sure are...but I'm not allowed them in the house!

Well, doesn´t the A3 3.2 V6 have 250 hp So, if there is going to be a new S3, probably it will have a few more hp, don´t u think??
