Hi All,

Great site, loads of handy info for a newbie.

Just got the nod for the finance and am on the look out for a S3. Loved the car ever since a mate had one. Have approx 15-16K to spend, any pointers ? And what can I expect to get for my money?

Loads of choice,you should be able to get a fairly newish 1 for the money.
Try to get a high spec car,heated seats sunroof etc as the car will be much more re-saleable in the future.

I imported my first S3 with huge spec,ran it for 18 months and sold it for a £500 profit.

ps watch the prices Audi garages charge,not a true reflection of the market for S3

Try to get a facelift model (2001>, so late X onwards). The one-piece headlights are a give away. Should be able to get a decent one with reasonable mileage for that much.

I would say you could pick up a 51 plate for 16k easily (private sale)
