Hi,
Just been to put my samco air intake pipe on before my immenent re-map and the thing doesn't fit!!!I have compared it too jon murgies standard air intake pipe and it's different,the samco is the same as jon's so i have not been supplied the wrong one.My car is one of the very first s3's in this country so maybe it had a different pipe,i'm not sure??arrrhhh i'm really annoyed!!!ryan

ok more info and help needed,talked to someone else who has a 1999 s3 and a samco fitted(didn't do themselves) and no probs as far as they know.part number for stock intake hose;
jon murgies 06A 145892 AJ / PXO 103908
mine 06A 133356 E / PXO 416482 >eco<

bit of difference there aswell.

my car seems identical to this us spec 225 tt engine bay;
http://www.battcall.com/Diverter_valve_detail_2A.jpg

while everybody elses s3 is like this;
http://www.wak-tt.com/mods/dv/dvlocation1.jpg

from what i can see there are 4 connections off the main maf to turbo pipe.
1.)pipe to actuator with sensor on(left on mine,right on eveybody elses)
2.)Diverter valve(seems to be in the same position)
3.)PCV Damper/valve(more on top on mine,more to left on everybody elses)
4.)some sort of pipe that is just before the turbo that goes across the top of the engine towards the washer bottle i think??(seems to be in the same position)

I could probably hook it up with a bit of messing with the pressure sensor and PCV.Could someone confirm that i'm right!!
thanks Ryan

i've done a basic drawing so that it explains it better,could everyone have a look at there stock intake pipe and confirm that my guesses on the connections off the samco are correct.Main difference being the pressure sensor going to the actuator is on the left on my car and the right on everybody elses and the PCV valve is lower and more to the left,cheers for the help,regards Ryan

it has been confirmed that the early 99 s3/tt had a different intake hose with a few different diameter/positions of the off hoses,if anyone can help with a adaption i'm sure i could supply the beer tokens ,otherwise it's back to forge.regards Ryan

hi Paul,
yes thats right paul the n75 is on the left side on mine as the samco is built for the n75 on the right.I wasn't told from forge that there is a difference in the hoses but they did know because i found out from the forge guy on the tt forum.I'm a bit gutted because i'm having my revo map done on the 19th and i wanted the hose sorted.regards Ryan

Ryan, just looked at Etka and there seems to be a difference in the hose depending on if the car has ESP or not. Which one looks like yours??

First pic without ESP:

Arrrrrghhhh - I've had a set of Samco's sat in the garage for a while now, after buying them of BassS3. I was planning to fit them when my car goes in for the new clutch and other bits and bobs. After reading this post I've just been and checked my hose and guess bloody what!!!

You guessed it I'm now in the same situation as you Ryan. Different bloody hose.

Any feed back you've had would be much appreciated mate.
