Battery Replaced Under Warrant

Whitehouse have just replaced the battery on our 18-month old S3 under warranty.

Went out Sunday, stopped at a garage and the car wouldn't start. RAC came out and got the car going and said the battery was at fault.

Whitehouse ran diagnostics which didn't show any error codes and have fitted a new battery. But they said that the RAC should have sent out an Audi-equipped RAC man who should have replaced the battery there and then, as this is supposed to relieve pressure on the main dealers.

Theres a surprise for the RAC Just hope it wasn't my dad !!

They have to remember that the pump for the turbo is still running for 20 mins or so after swtiching the ignition off. This will give you a false reading on their tester.

The ADT's in Kent are pretty good by all accounts. For flat batteries you will ususally get a usual Tango mobil if the ADT is busy elsewhere.

Hi Graham

Don't think it was your Dad. A bloke called Henry.

The car had been standing for over 20 minutes by the time he got there. It was a bit nippy in New Romney that day! Whitehouse were I think surprised to find that there were no fault codes and that it really was a defective battery.
