Papaya S3...Opinions Please

Post by Laptop » Thu Feb 12, 2004 10:15 am

Hi.

I absolutely love this car, and am considering buying it.
My concern is not personallly living with it, but the residuals and re-sale ability. Do you like it??

All down to personal taste I guess....probably not the best choice if you're worried about residuals though

I like it

My rational behind this thread is that if there are people who state that they like it, then there may be a private sale market in a year or two when I move it on.

All depends what you pay for it. If it's £2k cheaper than a "desirable" colour then go for it. Don't pay over the odds as I guess in a few years it will follow the same pattern as the Absolute red and Imola cars do - ie cheaper. I like bright colours on the S3, but a lot of the stigma behind Audis are the fact that they are quite stealthy and you may have trouble selling it on.

Also get used to being refered to as Tango man

Cheers

Ben

Looks great, go for it...

Yellow is the best color for the S3, all the others don't show its sexy lines...

Buy it because you like, not because of the resale... You buy a car to drive and enjoy for yourself!

I honestly fully agree with you.......BUT....when I have finished owning the car that I bought for myself...to enjoy myself...and I sell it...then at this stage my lovely misses has the opportunity to mention depreciation etc etc etc. ALL cars drop....no problem...but I just don't want to be left with a LEMON...or should that be ORANGE

At first glance I do actually quite like it, not as garish as imola IMO. Assume its got black leather inside ?? cant see any of the alcantara versions going with this or even the silver nappa leather. As to whether i could live with it on a daily basis... thats another story.

How long has it been at the stealership.. vague recollection it being in a scottish one b4.

I'm not sure how representative I am of the typical second-hand S3 customer but personally I'd think twice about accepting even if someone offered it to me for free.

No offense meant, just MHO.

Bugger you lot of old farts, I live it! I can understand that maybe it's a tad on the bright side to live with for some, but it's energetic, and it certainly does show the lines of the S3 better. It's a very rare colour I think, since I've never seen one apart from that one in EVO. A lot of people will be anti the colour, but then a lot will like it's rarity and flare. Try and push the price down though just to make sure. But if it's noggy you want then hold out for it.

Rock on
