got back from Tenerife yesterday after 10 days of not starting the car and the battery was so flat the central locking wasn't working (had to use the key in the lock to open the door - first time in 2 S3's)

anyone else had this?? Car will be two years old in April

My battery starting to struggle sometimes, but is 4 1/2 years old.
May have voltage leak somewhere. Check boot light is going out by removing parcel shelf and peering in when car is locked up. Mt Corrado used to do it all the time.
Are you sure that the alarm has not been going off for 10 days and drained battery? VAG COM

New battery is cheap from German and Swedish or Euro car parts.

Best of luck mate,

Ben

Cheers Ben. my car is still under warranty so the car will be booked in shortly to have a look at this and the long suffering rear wiper motor.

voltage leaks are the worse!! could be a nightmare to track down.

the more i think about this, before xmas, the starter motor wasn't turning over as fast as it should have in the morning.

Mine was stood for 4 weeks last month and I also had exactly the same problem, and mines only 6 mths old!
Apparently this is because of the cold weather freezing the battery when stood for 2 weeks or more.
Thats what the handbook says anyway.
Its just a bit degrading when my assistance car was stood there for the same amount of time and started straight away.
(B reg Volvo)
Its been ok since. fingers crossed.
