Over rev's on change up under hard acceleration!!

Do all S3's do this? When Accelerating briskly, change up 1st to 2nd, revs hang or increase! 2nd to 3rd revs hang or increase again, same 3rd to 4th, and this is with full lift-off the loud pedal!

Why is this? Does anyone know if it can be rectified its really annoying.

All help appreciated

Most people that drive my car do this whilst swearing blind that they have lifted their foot all the way off the throttle. As the DBW is so sensitive (on mine anyway), any slight pressure on the pedal when changing gear will rev the engine. Being used to it, I don't have this issue.
Perhaps you may need to re-calibrate the throttle.

Another thing that could cause something similiar is a faulty MAF sensor. When I replaced my MAF the revs didn't hang anymore when changing gear.

Best of luck,

Ben

Ben,

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I'll try both. If I complain enought to Audi will I get the MAF changed under warrenty? (How much are they to buy?)

They're £230 IIRC, but I doubt they'll change it with out any error codes being thrown up - but they are a common failure point on Audis so you may be in with some luck.

Cheers

Ben
