pudding bowl connected to my steering wheel?

Post by DuncS3 » Tue Oct 28, 2003 12:57 pm

I didnt drive my car for a week as I was away with work and it had just had a new drveshaft gaitor fitted under warranty. Well anyway when I drive my car now it feels to me as if the steering rack is connected to a pudding bowl, which in turn operates the wheels...

There is nothing wrong with the cars steering as it goes where you point it (I think), it's just that it feels so overservoed that I am feeling really dissapointed in the car.

I dont know why this has suddenly dawned on me (?) or perhaps there is something wrong with the car - but I dont think so. Anyone else feel that the steering feels vague and out of touch with the wheels - I mean it is meant to be a 'fault' with Audis but I dont know why I am noticing this now?

funny you should mention this i sometimes feel that the steering wheel is lazy and heavy compared to sometimes, i put it down to the fact that i drive alot of different cars at work and get used to the feel of them..... same happens with the brake pedal... i.e. drive a car at work then get into my S3 and the brakes feel so much better and solid....
preception!

You are right to that extent - I drove a r32, then got back in the S3 and I couldnt believe how heavy the S3 steering felt!!

weird
