Ignition timing and adaption.

Post by Riz_RS4 » Sat Oct 25, 2003 11:26 am

Questions for all you owners with tuned S3`s.

First question, some users have had the ingnition knocked back running anything higher than lowboost 9 timing 5, just wondering has anybody tried using Vag-com on other tuned S3`s apart from Revo ones..... could it be that ALL tuning methods cause ignition knocks.

Second question will adaption take place if the ignition has knocked back?

Cheers.

My car has APR 265 Optimax chip and only thought it increased bhp by increasing the boost to 1.2 bar? What does lowboost 9 timing 5 mean, what will mine be?

For the first time today I have noticed a problem. When I accelerate then release accelerator to change gear/stop hitting slower car infront, it stops accelerating really harshly. i.e feels like brakes have been applied. It doesn't do it every time.

Does anyone elses car do this, chipped or standard?
