S3 in cold conditions!

After the seat heating and a/c post i had a chance to play alittle with my S3 in a cold condition and must say it really does go better in these types of atmospheres.... my question is how much performance-wise will this make?
The engine temp needle still stays stuck on 90c which has been like that since new.
Obviously the IC`s like the coldness to overall will help the eingine produce better responses.......
It`s a shame that these turbo-charged engines develop so much heat

it isn't necessarily the heat the engine generates that affects performance - rather, it is probably due more to inlet temps as the cooler the air, the denser it is and therefore the more oxygen that can be compacted and pushed into the cylinder. I agree that mine definitely goes better in colder weather. Not had mine running today yet to take advantage of it though.

Mine also goes better in the damp/cold air.
Is this what a charge cooler would provide all the time?

David, i asked the same question to some one in the know how and their answer was that a charge cooler will never be as efficient as a FMIC. He's run tests with both systems and has managed to get lower intake temps on the FMIC than charge cooler.
I wonder if a FMIC in this cold weather would be even more beneficial than the standard two IC's ??

Take a look at this informative
intercooler tech page - there is more to intercooler design than just frontal surface area.

both my mirrors were steaming well tonight.
and electric seat heating doesnt take very long to take chill off the seat and start coming thru.
