MY car has just had its first variable service and they have told me that my driveshaft gator (or boot) is leakign and needs to be replaced under warranty. I asked the service person what one of them was and they said "its a gator"
Anyone know what this thing is?

I think this is the same as the CV boot which commonly splits, it needs grease to lubricate teh drive joint and doesnt really like dirt, muck and water in there so they often change them when looking worn or split
That goodness for warranty

It is also an MOT failure, so if you got pulled and the car was checked you could be done for having a non-roadworthy vehicle !
