I am currently looking for an S3. Have read a few threads but still have a few questions.

1. Is the Bose stereo woth having.
2. What are Audi dealers like bad good experiences?
3. Were the Recaro seats that are not completly leather orignaly a cheaper option.

Many thanks,

Nick

Hi Nadger,
In my view: The Bose is definately worth having, the std concert i think is quite poor having had a few audi loners when mine has been serviced.
Dealers vary dramatically (see dealers threads)
If I remember correctly(?) the alcantara/leather split wasn`t extra on my old S3, I have all leather now but reckon I`d do the alcantara again (looks better)
Whatever you do go for the chrome mirrors, they look the puppy`s nuts
Have you thought about colours yet? This may help you decide on what to do with the seats

We think the Bose is worth having.

Audi dealers vary a lot. Whereabouts are you?

We went for the 18" RS alloys as an option and they look fantastic!

Prawn has posted favourable comments about Gatwick Audi on the Dealer Forum.

A bit further from you I know, but I've also heard good things about Lind Audi at Tonbridge. Someone tjc knows has just had a car serviced there and said he got a much better service than from another Kent dealer he'd used previously.

For servicing there is a good independent VAG specialist near you - QS Tuning in Haywards Heath, if you're looking at a car that's not tied to Audi main dealers for warranty purposes.

Bose a definate Yes.

No problems with dealers, servicing/repairs etc even tho mine was an import, all tho one or two didnt take me seriously when i was originally looking to purchase one...

Leather or Leather/Alcantera mix is just personal choice.

IIRC, there were no seat pricing options, apart from heating.
One thing I will say is that full leather gets really hot after a while on your back and arse. I can't say whether this is the same with alcantara but I won't be getting it again. I guess it's the type of leather used on the Recaros, as my old A3 didn't suffer with this problem.
Bose is well worth it as if you go back to standard Concert the difference is pretty large, but it does tend to be pretty rear-biased in the S3.

Cheers

Ben

I agree with Ben , leather gets really hot, much prefer the half leather we have in the A4. I would expect the alcantara to be better but you may not get the choice.
