Here is the chance for all you S3 owners to let people know what modifications you have has done to your pride and joy...

I'll start by saying...

1. MTM 254 bhp chip
2. MTM Paddle Clutch
3. Porsche front brake conversion
4. Koni dampers
5. H&R springs
6. 18" RS4 replica alloys (Used to have 19" ACE130's )
7. 10mm spacers front 15mm spacers rear
8. Just brought Miltek off of Dean to be fitted when I find the time

Cheers
Mick

APR chip...although I will go Revo route
18" RS TTs

thats about it for now...considering Porsche brakes (long way off really) and GmbH suspension (could be sooner), finances allowing, but I am after a URQ this year..so might not do much else...

Mick how come you got Deans exhaust? He not like it anymore?

Do you think a chipped car should be 'remapped' (again) if a Miltek cat-back exhaust is fitted or not? You know like AMD did with Joshie and Bushys cars? Although I think for them it was the whole thing, downpipes and cats etc...

I don't think I would need a re-map by just replacing the exhaust from cat back. If you indeed went the full monty, downpipes cats etc... I would seriously consider a re-map. This might be a question for Kim Collins at Quattro Sports. I will be going down to him soon to get the Miltek fitted along with the adjustable tie-bars.. Might bend his ear a bit....

cats back just give an increased note and gas flow so no real power improvement

when you have the downpipes and cats done the back pressure is significantly reduced so at high speeds and high engine revs the engine can be starved of fuel

and as petrol also offers a degree of cooling if you do not have the remap then you could in some instances
a) - not get the full effect of the mods
b) - blow the engine up

that is my understanding

As I found out Miltek dont do downpipes for the S3, so you can never get the whole caboodle...

anyone know why they dont do them?

but do they do sports cats?

the downpipes are only important if they improve gas flow

If already optimised then no point in changing them

The next point of call is reducing the cats from 400 (stock - i believe) to 100 cell

Right then, my turn..

I have:

Misano Red Paint to break up the usual Black, Silver and Blues Image
18" RSTT alloys
AMD/EBC grooved front discs
EBC Greenstuff pads all round

I did have an AMD Chip pusing out 267 BHP but felt like it ran out of steam early Image

I'm currently trialing the APR 98 program which I like very much as it goes and goes right up the rev range Image

I'll soon be trialing the Revo whatsitsname program which is supposedly better than the current APR Image

Soon, I'll be getting an in-car MP3 player to play the thousands of MP3's that have mysteriously landed on my computer's H.D. Image Image Any recommendations anyone??

Crikey Dean !! my list is going to look prety pathetic compared to yours

AmD Remap
Forge DV

Have thought about brake/suspension upgrades and RSTT's but not really got round to it yet. Will see how the car performs on the track day in April.

Dunc/SiTa would be interested in your thoughts on the Revo remap as and when you've done your testing on the private track
