Easy easy people.... all im doing is buying a car.... not end of the world and like ive said its just another way to progress upwards.
putting a car away fro 6 months only to get a newer reg will not make it worth that much more.

I take delivery of the R32 in March 2004 which is only about 3 months away.
Like i said once before.... when it comes to resale most car dealers and sometimes even 2nd buyers look at the valuation books and a registerations DOES makes a difference.... besides its costing the dealer to keep it in storage for me so doesnt cost me anything extra.
The R32s aren't making money over book any more, so you've already mised the boat on this one.
The way i have always seen it cars are never a good way of making money and that has never been my aim whenever i buy cars.

I think the argument of which is better has been talked about alot on various forums but its not about which is better....... personally at the end of the day they are both cars! nothing more nothing less..... i will keep the R32 then sell that when i feel the time is right..... until i can go for a real exclusive RS!

Riz stop trying to convince yourself that the R32 is so good, all this talk from the S3 loverman! Have you driven a R32? I reckon you will be a tad dissapointed when your standard S3 'feels' quicker and the poorer quality interior starts to grate on you (nice seats and steering wheel though) Biggest problem with the R32 IMO is it feels underpowered. R32 is defenitely a better drivers car out of the box though, but if you are prepared to fiddle a little with the S3 then things move up a notch. To quote RC45 at Oulton "those S3s annihilated me" - and we are talking straight line stuff here.

R32 is a great car but its perhaps a little too close to the S3 to make the swap - I know I nearly did it!

Anyway, we all know how soft Riz is with his car, it is most likely his dream to own a car that is kept in storage. Think of those tyres and exhaust pipes not getting used and staying all brand new looking

well im not as the R32 has many downsides also.

R32 For:-
Bling bling image,Suspension, Steering, Engine, Brakes, Exhaust, Torque & Horsepower, 3 years warranty, Cheaper Servicing, Seats, 5 doors with probably some more good points.

R32 Against:-
Audio, Not a wide version of a Golf like a A3 compared to a S3, MPG, Could do with abit more torque & horsepower, no spare tyre and probably more downsides.

S3 For:-
Classy image, Turbo-charged, electric seats, BOSE sound system, better quality interior, Nice paint finish and good alloys, good mpg for performace with probably more upsides.

S3 Against:-
Less power than R32 out of the box, floaty suspension, bad brakes, boomy exhaust system, engine could do with sounding better, no rear doors, expensive over-inflated dealer charges, a years warranty left, and now getting common, residual`s dropping and will take another big hit if the new S3 comes out.

Right there you go a small indication where im coming from, also i must say the Audi dealership network is SH@T fullstop, time to try something different i think.

btw before people start the whole this is better than that, there are all my OWN opinions.

well like ive said before my age causes problems when insuring cars but i think im progressing nicely upwards until i can afford a RS car.

At 19 i bought a 206 GT (2.0ltr 138bhp) Group 15 insurance - 1999

At 21 i bought a S3 (1.8T 210bhp) Group 17 insurance - 2001

And now at 23 bought a R32 (3.2ltr) Group 18 insurance - 2003/4

Nope the R32 exhaust has no booming at all, while the S3 exhaust always sounds the same.. booming. I think your getting confused with the exhaust noise and the noise inside the cabin

Think you should read tyresmoke in detail. Boominess of the R32 exhaust is well documented. In fact S4 Dreamer was complaining about it on Monday night.
