I'll pass that info on to tjc - thanks. He's pulled the fuse and it appears to have sorted itself out, as advised by Whitehouse. They want it for 20 mins Monday morning to get the reference number and said they would fit a new unit.

I'm here also doing plenty of reading of old post and swatting up on everything non-S3 (which is taking me fcuking ages [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img])
I'll have an S3 FMIC installation story over the next couple of weeks so that'll be something to look forward to, unless I buy a Silver RS2 that I've got my eye on first [img]images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Symphony unit has been working fine since tjc pulled the fuse. Mechanic has looked at it this morning and said it was down to a short circuit. Apparently it's a known problem. Rather than risk it happening again they said they would order in and fit a new unit under warranty.

Just make sure it is a new unit, heard that unless the car is under 3 months old you'll be getting a recon'd one ! Great Audi warranty eh [img]images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

The old Audi Sport Net site was fantastic - found lots of useful info when him indoors was trying to decide whether or not to buy an S3. Now there are more sites catering for the S3, the discussions on each site seem to have been diluted in quantity and quality. And unfortunately the wealth of useful info on the old AS Net site archive seems to have been lost.
