Anti roll bars for an S3

Post by 242spot » Wed Nov 09, 2005 9:33 am

Hi there, im new to this forum and was after a bit of advice.
I hae a 99 S3 the 210Hp one, last week audi told me i have a crack i my rear anti roll bar.
I figure i may as well spend the money on getting a performance set rather than just sticking the stock audi one on.
So i have been looking on the net but cant find much info on anti roll bars for the S3
If anyone knows who make antiroll bar kits for them and where i can buy them from, your info would be appreciated.
ps web site links would be great!
Cheers.

I have the Neuspeed front and rear bars which are from awesome-gti - best mod bar a chip I have done on my S3 but you need to go front and rear. If you are only replacing the rear you need something like the v6 4 motion rear bar at 16mm (standard vag item). You can also fit the MK IV R32 front and rear ARBs but the front is 1mm bigger than the neuspeed item.

I haven't tried this on standard suspension though

Hi,

One of the guys here fitted the Mk IV R32 bars and had great results. Much sharper turn in. This car also had KW coilovers so not sure how they would suit standard suspension.

Cheers

THe R32 roll bars are a (cheaper) option, but apparently now nearly impossible to get hold of. I think the Neupseed way is the only way to go now.

yes I hear that VW are now asking for R32 vin numbers when you order any roll bars. I was going to change mine for the R32 ones but have other plans now.
M3 CSL - Silver Grey, a few options.

Hey guys thanks for the info.
Here is the results.
You can buy H&R anti roll bars for the S3 .....33431-1 as the model code!
this link will give you the info for your car. http://www.srbpower.com/hr/anti-roll-bars.php
I had mine put on yesterday.
Everything went with out a hitch untill they discovered they could not get the front wheel off!!!
After 3 broken sockets and a cross bar the nuts finally came off!!
The result was great though. i have the stock suspension in for the moment and it handles really flat even under hard breaking into turns.
