Are all s3's Drive by wire??

My tuner wants to know if my s3 is a drive by wire,it's a apy engined 7/99 car.Is there any way of telling,regards Ryan

Yes it is.
Same as my old one. You won't be able to find a cable anywhere which gives the game away if you know where they usually are on a non-DBW 1.8T.

can you remember you vin or engine no ben might help me out,if mines later i assume it's dbw.thanks Ryan

It was an APY for sure. After APY came AMK then BAM. Mine was a July '99 car.
Apparently one of the tests for DBW is to try and throttle and brake at the same time, braking should stop then engine from revving. Never tried it myself but should be quite easy to try this in the car park.

made a call to amd concerning cruise control and my car has dbw,£275 plus vat for cruise control sounds a bit steep!!!

Not sure, but the one that I bought is drive by wife.
