ECU Problems

Post by tomdav1 » Mon Dec 22, 2003 12:02 pm

Hi,

Driving to work this morning, went to accelerate and all I got was a rumble, a flashing ecu light and the acceleration of my old tractor!

Took it straight to dealer, waiting to hear from them now...

My baby

Will keep you posted with what the problem is....

Sounds very coil pack to me also. What year is your car?

Sounds about the right age - nothing to worry about, simple job if it is coil packs.

Best of luck,

Ben

Good news, it is the coil packs...

All fixed apparently.... They have only replaced 1 of them though...

Just wait for the other 3 to go now!!!

Thanks

Tom, get them to check your chassis number against their list for replacements of all coil packs
Always check your nuts before you have a play !

Tom, push them to replace them all. My S3 had all four done at its service, even though none had gone. The dealer told me they had to replace them all if as Hopsta says, you have a certain chassis number range and your car comes in for some work. SitaS3 had one of his go and they replaced all four. If one goes it stands to reason there is a chance of another going too, and that could be a major pain in the arse if it happens over the holiday period when a lot of places are closed.
