There is a definite delay with mine (although the demister button works) - this frosty morning the delay was between 5 - 10 mins

Most definately not a delay that long... maybe a couple of minutes. It takes time to get warm but doesnt wait the time your saying to start using fans.

right i'm like a dog with a bone now - I'll be timing it accurately tomorrow morning if its frosty/cold.

Have you noticed if your seats get warm at the same time the climate kicks in?

Rough timings this morning, DIS showing 5.5C so not as cold as y'day.

Heated seats set to 4 took 1½ mins to really feel the heat coming through.

Climate Control set to 25.0C too about 2 mins for the fans to reach 3 bars and then a couple more before they started to come through the main vents on the dash/floor 8 bars ish. Water temp gauge was just about moving by this stage.

The first ½ mile or so of my journey is a very low speeds 10-15mph before I hit a main road and then its about 40 mph.

Hope thats some use to you Simon

Graham

When you say it takes a while for the climate to kick in, do you mean the fan or the air con? The air con won't function below a certain temp first thing how ever many times you press the button. IIRC about 3C.
I can feel my seats after a minute or so but they do take a while to really kick in.

Thanks Graham - too warm today to test this properly - just done it tonight with engine stone cold (outside temp 6 degrees) and heated seats took 4 mins before any heat could be felt - however I did turn off the 'Auto' button this time on the air con and the heater blower worked straight away. Maybe it could be due to what thickness cloths we are all wearing?

Maybe we could test them out at a trackday or something.

p.s. the cold really does help the car breath better also.
