Just noticed on the pics taken with phone that the bumper insert is black, where as mine is grey. Whats that all about? Also, is that Absolute Red or another type?

I`ve always thought that the front grill`s, side strips and rear bumper inserts were black?

Yes Absolute Red is one of the colours Audi offers, Misano Red is a special order paint option.

Mine are all grey

Is yours a 225bhp version, because mine is a 2001 X reg, but 210 bhp. One of the last I was told as it has 210 engine but single piece xenon lights.

Maybe if yours is the lastest model and the special order paint, thats why its different?

Dont worry they might be grey, i just never thought they were.

Mine was one of the last 210bhp MY2002 models yours is the facelift model like mine.

225bhp engines rolled out in late MY2002 models. i think November 2001 onwards.

Call me a doughnut (actually don't), but what does MY2002 mean?

Is yours still 210 bhp? Have you tried the STP Octane booster from Halfords, its about £6 for boosting up 50 litres, any good?

PS Took pics of car weekend, just waiting for brother to email them to me when he gets new modem.

Dont worry about not knowing much about this and that.... im still learning too....

MY2002,MY2003 etc are model years for when the car was build, usually this starts at odd times and is not based on the yearly calender. i.e. MY2002 started mid 2001 i think and finish mid 2002 (not 100% sure).

My car came off the production line about one week or after the 225bhp engines were implanted. At the time i didnt feel it to be that important, the colour and alloys did it for me and i had to buy it. I bought it off somebody who personally imported from europe and saved alot as the chap was desperate for cash

I use Millers Octane booster which i bought from the Groupbuy we had on RS246.com

Only got 4 bottles left though.

I would say its worth using it.
I also never fill up with anything other than Shell Optimax.

The factory closed down over August I believe to re-tool etc for the next Model Year, hence any cars built after the re-tool (September) should be the next Model Year.
That's what I thought anyway

yes that is my understanding as well, so vehicles registered sept / oct ( like now )could be late 03 / early 04 models. The letter in the chassis number identifies the year model.
