noob s3 owner just saying hi

Post by EskimoS3 » Mon May 28, 2007 10:15 pm

Hi there, ive just got a 2001 y reg 210 s3 in silver, i bought it from my dad, lwho had it from new. Ive wanted this car for 6 years, im so chuffed to have it. I have been blown away by it, ive always had jap motors but the s3 makes you feel a million pounds..

Any way, some times when i turn it on the coolant warning light flashes on for around 30secs, i looked in the handbook and its says "temp too high or low" is this a sensor fault?

Also occasionally i will turn on and traction control light stays on, i then turn off and on again and its fine??? maybee another sensor.

many thanks

Ollie

Hi Ollie

Congratulations on your new car. Enjoy.

My OH has had an ebony black one on a 52 plate from new. We put a few miles on the beast this weekend, which has reminded OH what a great car it is.

im really pleased with it, i quite like the slight lag too, having grown up on turbocharged renaults.

Has any one got one of thoes forge dump valves which release some air but recirc enough to meet the engine management requirements? Im not sure if i consider these "chav" but apparently you can adjust them too be re-circ only? Just wondered if these are much cop???

Traction control light could possibly be one of the motion sensors to detect lack of traction, mine went after a month of getting it :(

Congrats on the new car mate, Silver is defo the best colour, although maybe im biased.

The coolant fault sounds like a fault one of my mates had and it was the coolant sensor.
