Change BOV to BV ?

Post by kriszty » Thu Apr 17, 2003 11:50 am

i'm now running a week with my revo'd car, it is running great i also changed the standard valve with a BOV ( Bonalume ) see picture. althought the car is running great, a couple of people said that it is better to change the BOV for a DV ( forge, milltek ) because the BOV can cause problems to my car. What to do ????? change it or leave it ?

i'd change it back to a recirculating DV.

The problem with Blow off valves is that they vent the unwanted charge air to the atmosphere.

This confuses the air metering system as it expects that air to be recirculating, which means it has less air than it thinks it does, so the engine runs too rich.

Well thats what they are saying, but my dealer connected the valve on a different way, he know about this kind of problems but insured me that the way he fixed it nothing wrong will happen,

i'm not a expert , but can this be true, i know i can trust him but i heard so many people saying ........

are there more S3 drivers with a BOV ??

well yesterday i changed my BOV for the FORGE 006, it does not makes any big difference compare to the Bonalume BOV, maybe it's on my mind only that i think the cars pulls a little better in low rprms, now i don't have to worry anymore that something wrong can happen because of the BOV
