I'm going to view a Ur-S4 next week hopefully and was wondering what i should look out for as there isn't really much of a buyer's guide for the 100 S4.

What engine is in these? is it the ABY lump??
Whats the difference between the 5spd and 6spd boxes in these?

Any thing you can tell me about these motors i'd appreciate it.

no its the AAN code 5 pot 20v turbo

I had mine for nearly 6 years, then sold it to a fellow member from the quattroforum then bought it back again a year later.
the body is galvanized so there shouldnt be any signs of corrosion if the car hasnt had battle damage repairs not done to Audi standards.
Mine is an auto but the 6 speed box is standard fit... not sure if ANY S4's has a 5 speed, cant say I have ever seen one with such a box.

these are very comfy long distance cruisers with a range of about 450 miles with the 6 speed box according to Autocars original road test.
find a well looked after example with a good service history and a good spec and I am sure you will have a many a year satisfying drive ahead of you.
the 5 pot 20v turbo engines are able to stand big power outputs so 230 bhp its hardly trying.
Many of these engines are used for Ur quattro 20v conversion jobs.
