Hello from new S4 owner

New to this section of the forum but not RS246. Had an RS2 a few years ago, just bought an S4 B6. 89k miles manual avant c/w LPG conversion by BRC. Also has MRC remap and full MIJ stainless steel exhaust system. Goes pretty well and does about 200 miles on a £35 tankful of LPG. Performance drop barely discernible, if indeed at all. One thing I don't understand is how the trip computer still seems to work when the fuel level in the petrol tank never changes?! Any thoughts?

On another note, I'm interested in swapping my MIJ silencers for something a bit quieter if anybody out there fancies it? They sound fantastic at high revs (and are surprisingly quiet when cruising) but are a bit too deep and boomy at low revs for where I live, gets the curtains twitching when I start it up in the morning.

Also thought it might be worth noting that I've found a way to fit aero wipers without throwing away perfectly serviceable original arms. I took all the old wiper blades and associated plastic bits off, leaving just an arm with an 8mm hole. Then put an 8mm diameter 20mm long black clevis pin through the hole, with a black R-clip on the other end, giving a perfect fitting for the new aero blades to clip onto. Cost less than £5 to get all the bits off eBay, and looks almost like it came out of the factory that way.

If anybody's interested in swapping silencers let me know; I'm in Blackheath, south London.

Cheers
Andy

Nothing to see really, car looks standard. Tailpipes are v.slightly larger diameter and there is the LPG filling point down between them. And of course my cunning wiper blade mod...

Welcome. You should do a little DIY write up with pictures for the wiper blade mod.I am sure many memebers will be interested.

Just for interest - The trip computer uses the Mass Air Flow value and the vehicle speed to work out the MPG at any particular time. That probably explains why some people complain that their MPG indication is way off, because their MAF sensor needs sorting.
