Hot front right wing/fender

So i had a rather "spirited" drive home last night, 10kms, ambient temp was 21.5c just after a rain shower.
I got home and touched the front right wing right above the gap between bonnet and wing and i could have cooked an egg on it it was so hot. I opened the bonnet and it was just that side what was hot. I had the lights on, halogen and white out indicators, but surely that would not have been the cause.

Please tell me its not a bust manafold pumping heat that direction. Any suggestions or similar experiences?
I did the same journey on the way into the office and touched the wing and it was ice cold. WTF :drink:

PS its an '04 B6. Tx

There are some coolant pipes that run inside the front right wing as you look at it. This is probably why it felt so hot.

Ok thanks for that..the update is.....the wing only gets hot AFTER i switch off the car and it sits for 2-5mins...so coolant pipe would make sense
