Just put Bilstein B8's on and immediately there's an annoying squeak every time the car goes over a little bump. Coming from the rear only. Tried lubing the rubbers, but still doing it.

ee ee ee ee ee ee ee ee

driving me mad!

Perhaps I should just change all the bushes, etc. althuogh they look to be in good condition.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

Something I forgot to mention, I couldn't make the car do this by bouncing the suspension or rocking it by hand. Only when driving which I don't understand. Even very small bumps make it squeak.

Mine didnt either mate, but when driving, even those little metal pyramids they stuff on the road to mark pedestrian crossings would make it squeak. Its almost like its echos up through the car and gets louder from the inside.

My car remains squeak free following xyber's advice. Prior to that it was worrying, annoying and embarrassing in equal measure. The only annoying noise I get now is the grind of the sump guard when I forget to take the numerous local speed-bumps at the right angle... a Panzer Plate is the next item on the shopping list!

Looks like it would do the job! Any leads on UK suppliers? Can't imagine it would be cheap to ship over. I also see that VAG do steel guards for some VWs... anything OE for the A4/S4 you know of?

That GB will cost us in the UK $288 all in (£181) plus possible customs fees. Still cheaper than plastic OE ones and cheaper than I've even seem over here. Decent ones are £250-300 over here and I think the plastic OE set is about £150

Beware of customs and VAT on top of that price. You will have to pay VAT on the price of the goods AND the shipping costs. Also customs and excise duty, but I have no idea what it'll be on a part like this. It might be zero. Still, careful of handling customs fees, too, that might be levied by imoprting agents (like Fedex / UPS).

Yep, Im a courier, had a quick look and I'd say around £235 top end with Vat, duty and 'admin' fees

Cheaper than changing the sump ;)

That's my thinking, after seeing what frozen snow did to my undertray. It only just clipped it, but it looks like it's clawed by something.

It protects the cats as well which I've clipped once or twice on those stupid sump buster speed bumps

Added my name to the euroaddiction group buy list. Bit wary of group buys, not that I've ever participated in one. I'm good for the $ but with the amount of time it takes to gather enough participants, surely people's financial situations may have changed causing a few to pull?

With that many people the supplier will do it. I've bought from several in the past and arranged 2. It's just a way of the supplier getting someone else to do all the leg work for a bulk order. The supplier will be the one who collects to money and if you use your credit card your covered.
