What are the OEM brake pads

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but couldn't find the answer with the search facility.
Don't want to pay Audi prices for pads, but want to stay with the stock pads. Are they pagids like the RS6?
Cheers.

I think they are pagids. Would make sense cause the s3 were and rs6, plus i think the rs4's are pagids too.

Hi,
I bought Pagid front pads and front disks from eurocarparts.com a few months back and the brakes are now great.
I did try EBC Red Stuff pads on the new disks but they were dangerous IMHO and needed a lot of heat to start braking well.
I'm happy with the Pagids.
Regards, Chris.

Thanks guys. Is there just one model of Pagid?

Yes, as far as I know there is only one model.
Some people complain that the OEM pads produce a lot of dust, but you should be cleaning the wheels at least one a week, anyway, to stop the hot brake dust attacking the laquer wheel coating.

EBC reds aren't designed for the weight or power of the S4. I was told by a brake specialist they are better suited to 200bhp hot hatches. Ive got Yellows and like them alot and they are very low dust. OE are shockingly dusty I found

Are the OEM discs available cheaper elsewhere too? Are they made by someone like pagid?

There must be a lot of good alternatives to the OEM discs, from within the Audi models with same spec brakes as well as aftermarket?

Just ordered rear Pagid discs through Euro car parts over Christmas whilst I was home to sign for them. 300mm for the rears alone, they are heavy! I gather Pagid are OE.
Pads are more complicated, as there appear to be differences between B6 and 7 calliper, and there also appear to be several OE suppliers. I read that Lucas were an OE supplier, and tracked down rears for a very good price, hence bought some. They arrived in a Mintex box, but a quick research shows Lucas and Mintex are now one and the same.
Ideally wanted a set of discs and pads as I think my discs will be getting down towards borderline come mot in June. Don't want to get stuck and have to pay Audi prices - won't be back from Le Mans before my mot expires, so it's not like I can leave it parked up for a few days waiting for parts.

The B6 & B7 have different rear suspension and brakes. That why only the B7 RS4 fronts fit B6's.

The only viable option from within the Audi range is the B7 RS4 set up.´The S4 brakes are fairly big, 345mm, and generally not too shabby.
WRT aftermarkets set ups. There are not many options unless you go big brake, which is an over kill unless you track frequently. The Phaeton and Cayenne set up can be used with a few minor changes.
The best way of improving the standard set up is to fit braided hoses and use DOT5 brake fluid.
