Tailgate Open Warning on DIS

Started tonight on the way home, tailgate is closed but the DIS is showing it as open, any suggestions as to what is wrong, broken, etc
B7 S4 Avant.

Update:
It appears to be the microswitch in the rear tailgate lock at fault, this also stops the indicators flashing when the car is locked and alarm indicator LED in the drivers door so assume the alarm is also disabled.
