MRC Remap question

Post by xyber » Thu Feb 04, 2010 2:44 pm

If the map done 100% through the diagnostic port is does the ECU need to come out for the blank chip to be soldered on?

I've cracked the plastic trim that slots into the bottom of the windscreen and can't be arsed to buy a new one yet as I'm planning on a trip for mapping some time soon and don't want to break the new one aswell if it has to be removed for mapping

thanks all

On most B6 S4s the ECU has to come out, so don't bother, even though we've never cracked any pieces of trim so far by removing the ECU. However, if you want to hold off on that one and have it installed at the time the remap gets done, fair enough ;)

It seems to be paticularly wedged in on mine so I'll leave it till then, only £13 but saves the hassle
