Headlight fault

Hi Guys,
After turning a rather girlie shade of pink my offside drivers xenon bulb finally gave up the ghost and refused to play when turned on. I called the dealer and was quoted £162.50 for it's replacement.
Found a company who sold me a pair at £50 (HIDS-DIRECT) which I duly changed (as a pair)
This lasted 3 days before I had the 'bulb failure' appear again on the DIS.
Next step - ballasts.
Bought a second hand control unit (ballast) from HIDS4U and duly fitted that - along with the replacement bulb. All worked a treat.
2 days later - same DIS warning and the bulb wasn't playing out (again!)
I swapped the bulbs & ballasts over from each headlight and also used new bulbs which concurred that the ballast had failed (again.)
My question is: Has anyone else had a similar experience and also what's the chances of a 2nd ballast failing? Coincidence or faulty car wiring?
The nearside headlight works fine. The offside does suffer with condensation - could this be a deciding factor?
Another ballast is on order.
All help greatly appreciated,
Grahame
