I've had my S4 now for 7 months.

Just recently had the car serviced. Originally the car was on the Audi variable service intervals (2 years /19k miles), and I was advised by several specialists and RS246 forum members to get the car onto an annual service regime.

Since the car was serviced, I have noticed a remarkable reduction in oil consumption (I was going through 1lt every 2000 miles). I have also noticed the characturistic "Death Rattle" on start up is almost completely gone.

I know that these will come back as the oil starts to thin, but the shorter service intervals will help to lubricate the engine components and extend the life of the engine, keeping the start-up rattle at bay.

If you haven't decided to take the plunge and take your car off the AVS, I recommend that you do. It will save you money in the long run.

I'm doing mine on Saturday, got a good deal on Castrol Edge and looking forward to seeing the effect of fresh oil. My VR6 used to go like stink when it had fresh oil

You probably will get the rattle come back but for only 1 second after start up. Glad it is holding it's oil now and is quieter.
Thinking of changing our S4 after xmas but after driving it last night i love it. (only drive it once a week if i'm lucky noramlly)

Unless you get something of equal standing, you'll miss the power of the S4!

You won't miss the fuel consumption though.

I hope the weather holds out for you tomorrow for your oil change. Unless you have a decent size garage, you won't want to be doing the work in the rain!

if I win the lotto tomorrow I'm building a massive garage with a ramp for definate, make things so easy!

You'll need to move you Bugatti out so I can get my poxy Audi in.

If we do change i think it will be for either a B5 RS4, RS6 or i think the wife is desperate for an S5. Lot's of money though so will see how things go.

I need a four door. That's why I got the S4 over an M3. That and the build quality swung it in the S4 direction.

Do like the S5 though. Nice white one next to my work with big 19" RS4 alloys. Look really nice.

There an S5 near me in black with those black BBS air alloys. Looks evil
